Rules

While the the challenge really is about you and your goal, these are guidelines to will allow you to get the most out of the challenge. These are here so that everyone is on the same page as to what is to be expected.

  1. Active Period - Time Period in which results are accepted for a Participant's selected challenge.
    • Fall/Winter Challenge: September 22nd at 12:00 PM ET through January 1st 1159 PM ET 
  2. Challenge Goals
    • Fall Winter/Challenge: Make their way through each individual level-ups of the challenge based on their fitness level and personal goals.
  3. Level-Ups
    • Fall Winter/Challenge
  4. Participant must submit daily activities during the "Active Period" of their challenge.
  5. Participant may not use activities prior to their challenge start date.
  6. Participant may use activities prior to the their registration date but after the start date as long as activities are well documented.
  7. Participant may perform the activity anywhere they wish that is safe for them to do so, including indoors. Participant is to abide by any local restrictions that may be in place as the result of COVID-19.
  8. For an activity to be valid, it must be a intentional endurance activity that a participant sets out to do and covers a distance either in real life or virtually.
    Example: Going for a run is intentional. Daily step count mileage is not deliberate.
  9. Participant is to complete a valid activity of their choosing frequently until the challenge is complete. They do not have to perform a valid activity each day.
    • Valid Activities - Activities that are intentional, endurance related and cover a distance.
      • Foot Challenge - Activities may be performed on a treadmill indoors. 
        • Running
        • Walking
        • Orienteering
        • Hiking
        • Other: trail work, mowing the lawn, any activity in which you are covering a distance by foot only that can be tracked with no added assistance. 
      • Multisport Challenge
        • Any foot travel activity above
        • Swimming
        • Paddling including row machines
        • Cycling to include indoor trainers/spin bikes.
        • Adventure Racing
        • Skating
    • Non-Valid Activities - Activities that are not intentional, not endurance related and do not cover a distance.
      • Step Counts as these are typically estimated and not a deliberate act.
      • Weight lifting: Stationary and does not cover a distance.
      • Yoga: We all love yoga, but doesn't cover a distance.
  10. Participant must go to the challenge website and add the activity to their results for it to be counted towards their goal.
  11. Participant results will be tallied for the duration of the challenge until the goal is completed.
  12. A tracking device is not required but recommend only to help participant track their activity. We will not be verifying files.
    • We recommend Strava app if you don't have a GPS watch. However, any app or watch that tracks your mileage or distance is useful.
  13. Participants using time as a metric should try to use only moving time if possible and exclude rest periods.
  14. In order to receive a finisher award, the participant must submit results within the "Active Period" for their registered challenge. Award will be based on the achievement level of the participant.
